The Operations and Data Associate at the McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia, plays a vital role in supporting student success through efficient operations and exceptional service. This customer-facing position involves interacting with students, staff, faculty, employers, and alumni, contributing to the overall mission of the newly formed Student Success Center (SSC).

  • Assist with event planning processes and day-of responsibilities including scheduling and approvals, room reservations, building security planning, visitor wayfinding and parking, staffing, communication of calendar of events, setup, support and cleanup.
  • Collaborate with a team of student workers to ensure coverage of front desk and daily tasks; provide exceptional customer service by triaging student inquiries and possessing a broad knowledge of McIntire programs and services.
  • Gather and disseminate information, events, and opportunities to students and other McIntire constituents.
  • Support the collection of internship and post-graduation plans from students; enter, validate, and prepare data for reporting purposes.
  • Streamline office operations to maximize time and resources and ensure excellent customer service to all constituents.
  • Bachelor's degree and at least three years of related work experience.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a passion for student development.
  • Ability to assist with occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a willingness to learn new technology platforms such as Salesforce, Handshake, 12Twenty, EMS, and Stellic.
