Essential Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant plays an integral role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Danbury, CT Hauling Depot. This role provides administrative and operational support to management, dispatchers, and frontline drivers and helpers to ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to multi-task.

Requirements

  • 5 days a week Monday through Friday with some Saturdays being required.
  • The start time for this position is 8am to 5pm.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or GED is required; additional education is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in administrative or operations support, preferably in the sanitation industry.
  • Strong computer skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Fluency in English is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Tower software is strongly preferred, but training can be provided.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills are considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations by checking in with drivers and helpers at the start and end of their shifts
  • Ensuring clear communication and documentation.
  • Regular data entry of route sheets, fuel usage, hours, miles, and driver surveys.
  • Handle occasional customer calls, relay messages between dispatch and drivers, and collect key paperwork such as DVIRs, tickets, and incident or injury reports.
  • Coordinate with sales and customer service teams on service updates and utilize the Tower software platform to manage operational needs. When needed and trained, the assistant may also support dispatch functions.
