About The Position

The Cyber Security department at NiSource ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of NiSource assets to achieve the company mission. Operational Technology Specialists provide technical expertise and support for Electric Energy Management System, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) infrastructures including identified Critical Cyber Assets systems. In this role you will ensure the reliability, performance, integrity, and recoverability of the identified Cyber Asset hardware, operating systems, and/or associated applications. You will also troubleshoot and resolves system issues; continually improve system designs and provide 24x7 support for emergent situations. Operational Technology Specialists work in one of the following disciplines: Energy Management System Support responsibilities include technical expertise of critical application troubleshooting and modeling of the systems supporting the electric environment. Operations Software and Application Development responsibilities include including development and enhancement of applications that support the Operational Technology electric environment. Network and Security Support responsibilities include the design, development and implementation of network operations, network architecture, and network security, solutions and monitoring capabilities. Infrastructure Support responsibilities include including Server, Desktop, VMware, Citrix and SAN administration, Directory server management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience with IT Systems support such as help desk, infrastructure support, application support, or related duties
  • Experience with MS Office Suite

  • Related experience in the utility industry

Responsibilities

  • Performs all required operational maintenance and troubleshooting of supported systems
  • Works with vendors, application developers, database administrators, corporate IT, and other technology groups to resolve problems
  • Assists in the design and development of System implementations
  • Evaluates and tests software changes and updates supplied by vendors, prior to installation
  • Maintains appropriate change management documentation for all hardware and software modification
  • Provides hands-on technical maintenance or walk users through a troubleshooting and resolution process by phone or through electronic platforms such as real-time chat
  • Tracks support records and analyzes data to identify patterns of common issues
