About The Position

The successful candidate will manage Operational risks for GIH and its subsidiaries that have outsourced such activities to GIH, performing the following: Identify and assess the inherent operational risks in a forward-looking perspective to avoid future operational events (Annual Risk Assessment). Define and implement the operational risk process. Define and implement the Event and Loss Data Collection process. Perform qualitative operational risk analysis. Manage reporting activities related to operational risk, event, and loss towards the top management of the Company. Monitor the implementation of the action plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or Quantitative disciplines (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive understanding of Financial Markets and Asset Management Industry practices with at least 3-5 years of relevant related experience in Risk Management or Operations (or other similar experience - e.g. Business Consulting)
  • Minimum 2 years operational risk management experience or extensive experience in operations
  • Strong understanding of Asset Management Companies' organization and processes
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of regulatory requirements and changes, especially those related to the Asset Management Industry
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Familiarity with risk management software and methodologies (e.g. Risk Metrics, Liquidity Metrics)

Nice To Haves

  • Working experience in a UK or US based asset management financial institution is a plus
  • Experience in developing and implementing automated solutions using Python, ability to design and develop automated scripts using Python and integrate them with existing workflows is a plus
  • Working knowledge of VBA, R or Matlab for statistical analysis is a plus
