The anticipated salary range for this role is between $85,000.00 and $131,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) Program by working with first- and second-line participants to identify and assess risks
  • Develop reporting for internal use and governance committees on both a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Participate in the collection of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
  • Manage the quality of data reported/identified via RCSAs and KRIs including alignment to taxonomies (i.e., process, control, risk, etc.)
  • Handle the governance and input of data into the firm’s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) application
  • Facilitate the RCSA review and challenge process on a quarterly basis
  • Manage the agenda and aggregation of content for the Non-Financial execution forum
  • Assist with special projects, when necessary, intended to enhance the Operational Risk Management Framework

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of direct work experience preferably within Risk Management
  • Foundational knowledge of enterprise Operational Risk Management
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong organizational skills, with proven ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent priorities
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to question the status quo and apply effective challenge, as appropriate
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to successfully interface across various levels and maintain solid working relationships
