Global Support and Development is seeking to hire an Operational Planning Specialist! The position is full-time, in-office, and located at HQ in Charlotte, N.C. As our Operational Planning Specialist, you'll be the architect of readiness for Global Support and Development (GSD), maintaining the tools that allow us to strengthen communities and rapidly respond to crises.   • Support the development and maintenance of mid-term (4-weeks to 4-months) operational planning products
  • Assist with updating and maintaining the Global Operations Schedule (GOS) to ensure synchronization with all project and department timelines
  • Prepare documentation such as deployment concepts, planning checklists, pre-trip briefings, and after-action reviews
  • Support operational planning activities, including participation in synchronization meetings, tabletop and full-scale exercises, and partner engagement preparations
  • Track project milestones and identify upcoming deadlines or potential planning gaps
  • Coordinate with Maritime, Logistics, Field Operations, and Medical teams to receive and integrate planning inputs
  • Maintain planning rosters, trackers, operational playbooks, and other tools to support readiness and deployability
  • Prompt and action GSD’s core values of accountability, humility, and integrity in all work we conduct
  • Promote good stewardship of financial and other resources to achieve maximum benefit to those impacted by disaster or at risk of impact
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in operations, project management, or planning support roles
  • Experience supporting coordination in humanitarian, emergency management, or response operation settings
  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, international affairs, operations, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with operational planning templates, tracking tools, or project management platforms
  • Ability to develop and maintain a common operating picture for all stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace
  • Proficient in using relational databases– Airtable experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Working knowledge of Spanish and/or French is desired
  • Up to 25 days of accrued vacation
