About The Position

The Operational Excellence (OPEX) Manager at Eaton's Sumter, SC facility is responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities Management, and Continuous Improvement engineering functions. This role involves leading strategic planning, enhancing operational maturity, and driving productivity projects to support the site's growth and efficiency objectives. The OPEX Manager will also focus on maintaining ISO 9001 registration, fostering a culture of safety, and implementing digital tools to improve decision-making and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years managing people or project teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Eaton Business System and OpA.
  • Facilities Management experience.
  • Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Manager certificate.
  • Certified Six Sigma Greenbelt.
  • Experience with Eaton Quality Systems, Safety Process, ProLaunch Process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities Management, and Continuous Improvement engineering functions across the Sumter campus.
  • Develop site operational footprint plans to achieve Eaton Sumter's growth, manufacturing, and I4.0 advancement objectives.
  • Work closely with all groups across the plant to develop, train, and lead improvement events using various CI methodologies (A3, Lean, BPS, etc).
  • Maintain ISO 9001 registration and ensure zero major findings.
  • Lead planning and execution of activities to enhance results on Eaton's Operating Assessment (OpA) manufacturing maturity process.
  • Develop projects to achieve the site's cost savings and productivity objectives.
  • Drive a Zero Safety Incident culture through cultural, behavioral, and engineering improvements.
  • Own the CapEx profit plan and execution of key projects across the campus.
  • Develop resources within the OpEx Department through training and professional growth opportunities.
  • Own the site's I4.0 roadmap and drive improvements using digital tools and automation.
  • Lead installed capacity planning and execution as part of the SIOP process.
  • Drive projects to ensure strong site aesthetics and visual controls across the manufacturing site.
  • Support and lead projects to drive energy efficiency in alignment with Eaton's 2030 GHG reduction initiatives.
  • Lead design, development, and revisions of workstation designs, method sheets/work instructions, and manufacturing aids.
