The Novelis Bay Minette team is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager to lead the implementation and sustainability of the Novelis Operating System (NOS) at one of our large manufacturing plants. In this role, you will manage a team of Operational Excellence Engineers and Specialists, partner closely with plant leadership to drive performance improvements, instill a continuous improvement culture, and implement critical initiatives aligned with plant and business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing management
• 5-7 years leading improvement teams and initiatives (Lean, DMAIC, WCM)
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to influence across all levels of the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and encouraging a collaborative relationship

Nice To Haves

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing management
• Master's degree in Engineering or MBA in Management Systems
• Experience in the metals or related industry
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
• Deep knowledge of Lean tools such as VSM, Kaizen, and DMAIC
• Project management certification or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment of the Novelis Operating System (NOS) through the development and execution of plant-specific NOS roadmaps, audits, and training programs.
• Drive performance improvement initiatives by finding opportunities, coaching plant leaders, and facilitating improvement activities that deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Support critical planning and execution through the annual Improvement Planning Cycle (IPC), establishing a single operating agenda aligned with plant goals.
• Use data and KPIs to monitor plant performance, identify performance gaps, and ensure alignment with organizational targets.
• Serve as a culture change agent; coach and mentor leaders to foster a zero-loss attitude and embed continuous improvement into the plant's daily operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with regional and global teams to share best processes, align improvement efforts, and strengthen NOS integration.
