About The Position

The Operational Engineer I, Retail Technology plays a key role in maintaining and advancing the technological infrastructure that powers Vuori's retail stores. This position ensures store systems operate reliably within defined SLAs through proactive monitoring, technical audits, and resolution of Tier 2 escalations. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Base content, analyze support trends to identify opportunities for process and technology improvements, and lead small to mid-scale rollout projects that enhance store performance. This role collaborates closely with vendors, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners to test and implement new technologies, execute security remediations, and drive continuous innovation that strengthens the stability, efficiency, and customer experience of Vuori's retail infrastructure.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in information Technology, Computer Science, or 3+ years of related experience preferred. Strong understanding of retail store operations and technology infrastructure.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical issues.
Experience with Meraki Networking, Shopify PLUS POS, M365 and Intune preferred.
Familiarity with network rollouts, upgrades, and technology implementations.
Ability to lead small projects and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Willingness to travel to retail locations as needed.

Knowledge of information security principles and practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Base content by identifying recurring issues, documenting resolutions, and ensuring consistency and accuracy across all support processes.
Analyze support trends and operational data to proactively identify inefficiencies, design process improvements, and implement technology optimizations that enhance retail store performance.
Lead small to mid-scale technology projects and rollouts (e.g., network upgrades, VoIP implementations, communication tool pilots), developing timelines, assigning work, and ensuring successful outcomes within defined standards.
Collaborate with third-party vendors and help desk providers to train Tier 1 support, direct field operations, assess vendor performance, and maintain service quality during installations and maintenance activities.
Test, evaluate, and optimize new technologies in lab and store environments, applying engineering expertise to interpret results, recommend configurations, and inform rollout viability.
Conduct technical audits and readiness assessments of retail stores, analyze findings, and independently implement corrective actions to improve infrastructure performance and reliability.
Serve as a Tier 2 escalation point for complex technical issues, troubleshooting independently, traveling to sites when needed, and ensuring standardized installations and configurations.
Implement and monitor proactive support metrics and alerting systems, analyze performance data, and adjust parameters to prevent incidents and improve system uptime.
Execute information security remediations in coordination with the Infosec team, balancing remediation activities with ongoing store operations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Retail, and Leadership teams to drive innovation, recommend technical improvements, and ensure store technology aligns with business and customer needs.
