About The Position

The Audit Lead Consultant is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and reporting of multifaceted, complex audit projects. This role plays a key part in strengthening Allstate's control environment by bringing independence, objectivity, and subject matter expertise to operational audits. The Audit Lead Consultant will provide leadership in project planning, delegation, supervision, and review of staff work to ensure professional standards are met and audit objectives are achieved.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience (Preferred).
  • Core certifications are required and considered a condition of employment for all new Audit Lead Consultants and above. Accepted certifications include CPA/CA, CISA, CIA, and CFE.
  • Any new hires or internal promotions into Allstate Internal Audit at the Lead level or higher who do not already hold a core certification must obtain one within 18 months of assuming the role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex operational audits with independence and objectivity, specifically within Claims and Product areas.
  • Apply deep subject matter expertise in insurance operations to the audit process, ensuring risk management practices and internal controls are evaluated effectively.
  • Actively engage with business partners to clearly communicate the purpose, scope, and value of audits, building relationships that foster accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of audit engagements from start to finish—planning, execution, and reporting—while ensuring professional standards and deadlines are met.
  • Direct and coordinate the work of project team members, providing guidance, feedback, and oversight.
  • Assume a leadership role in departmental process improvement initiatives and functional areas of expertise.
  • Ensure timely and effective remediation of control issues by working collaboratively with business partners.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Audit team by supporting key Internal Audit priorities and sharing best practices.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a risk-based audit plan for the enterprise, with a strong focus on Claims and Product operations.

Benefits

  • Compensation offered for this role is $76,200.00 - 134,550.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
