About The Position

The Operations Supervisor plays a key role in managing their team's workflow by assigning tasks, supporting staff, monitoring results, and reporting to senior management. They ensure safety and efficiency by improving processes, setting team targets, and acting as a link between employees and upper management. Supervisors are also responsible for coaching and resolving issues.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED or work experience plus education in lieu of a advanced degree
2+ years experience in a supervisor warehousing role within 3PL, warehousing, or distribution center industries
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead teams of 20+ people in a fast-paced, high-volume operation
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced warehouse/distribution environment

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking a plus
Microsoft Office Suites experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
Lean six sigma experience a plus
Inventory experience a plus
Third Party Logistics (3PL) experience a plus

Responsibilities

Promote a safe environment for the customer's product, associates, and temporary workers.
Follows established operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
Provides 100% customer satisfaction.
Builds a positive teamwork environment by listening and communicating with all associates.
Helps maintain attendance and tardiness records.
Monitors daily compliance with safety procedures.
Investigates accidents and prepares reports.
Provides on-the-job coaching and training needed to ensure associate skills are maintained at desired levels.
Helps coordinate vacations, payroll, and time sheets for associates and temporary workers, complaints and associate concerns productivity and quality of work.
Oversee associates.
Maintain proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for food grade warehouse.
