  • Ensure that the powerhouse assets are operated in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner
  • Participate in company safety programs and policies to promote a safe and healthy work environment
  • Perform inspections, water analysis, and troubleshooting to optimize plant performance
  • Monitor operating parameters and record operating data, including production efficiencies, electrical usage, pressures, temperatures, vibration indications, alarms and other pertinent information related to the safe operation of the power plant equipment
  • Notify the Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager of any unusual, abnormal, or potentially unsafe operating conditions and take appropriate action to mitigate any potentially unsafe condition
  • Perform scheduled and un-scheduled plant maintenance to optimize plant availability and improve cost effectiveness
  • Operation and routine maintenance associated with water treatment equipment, including routine monitoring of water quality
  • De-energize (lock-out/tag-out) all equipment within the scope of responsibility to allow safe performance of maintenance
  • Perform routine (planned maintenance) on all power plant equipment, including predictive, preventive, and minor corrective maintenance
  • Assist contractors with work that is beyond the capability of the Operations & Maintenance Tech
  • Record and document all maintenance activities performed on power plant equipment using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems related to the proper monitoring, control, and operation of power plant equipment
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring that the area is left in an unobstructed and safe condition following maintenance/repair tasks
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Four years’ experience in power plant operations
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Technical training and demonstrated ability to perform successfully in similar work environments
