About The Position

Main Function: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists in providing care to a designated patient population in collaboration with other members of the health care team. Follows hospital policy for site verification Maintain sterile field for breaks in technique and takes corrective action to maintain sterile field. Applies scientific principles in adhering to sterile technique (gowning, gloving, draping.) Handles and passes instruments and supplies appropriately. Handles specimens according to policy and procedure. Performs counts according to established procedures. Adheres to universal precautions.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician Program.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification.
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, self-motivated and work in an efficient and effective manner.
  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving patient experience and patient satisfaction with exceptional focus on teamwork.
  • Influenza Vaccinations are a requirement for employment. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date, during the influenza season, if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical exemption.

  • One (1) year experience in an acute care/hospital setting preferred.
