We provide: Comprehensive health benefits that start day 1 Student Loan Repayment Assistance & Reimbursement Programs Family-focused benefits Wellness incentives Ongoing mentorship, development, and leadership programs And more Description Position: Surgical Technologist Location: Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital 1455 Montreal Rd E, Tucker, GA 30084 Shift: Full Time 6:45am - 3:15pm Emory Orthopedic and Spine Hospital utilizes 9 operating rooms with 12-23 cases per day. Coming this fall, expansion to 11 OR rooms! All cases are ortho and/or neuro spine. Implements and evaluates care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures. Provides care to patients with complex health issues and serves as a clinical resource to staff. Monitors and maintains supplies and initiates purchases to ensure par levels. Identifies more complex patient needs by reviewing procedure protocol, physician's request, and assessing the patient's physical needs. Participates in the development and revision of procedure protocols, unit based forms and specialty clinical pathways. Provides input in developing and revising policies and procedures pertaining to specialized patient population to improve the quality of patient care. Successfully completes hospital and department based orientation programs.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training.
  • Two years multispecialty experience.
  • Must be able to function as a clinical expert in a service line and have the ability to float to other service lines as needed.
  • Individual is considered an expert in at least one specialty area and can competently handle multiple specialties. Specialty areas include General Surgery, ENT, Robotics, Ophthalmology (Corneal; Retina Cell transplants), Complex GYN, Complex Ortho/Spine, Thoracic, and Vascular.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
