About The Position

The ASC Materials Technician will assist the Material Manager and ASC Administrator in maintaining supplies and PAR levels for the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability of items for procedures and cases by overseeing the inventory of supplies and managing the check in/out of supplies and equipment. The technician will collaborate with the OR, Endo, and Pre-Op/Pac-U Coordinators to evaluate supply usage and needs. Additionally, the technician will assist with restocking and creatively solving supply issues that arise on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • 6 months to 1 year experience in Operating Room materials management or Surgical Tech or equivalent role within a clinical setting required.
  • 6 months direct experience in medical supply purchasing or related medical supply distribution required.
  • Basic knowledge of automated Materials Management software required.
  • Effective communication skills and critical thinking skills regarding surgical supply usage required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree, Bachelors, CPM, or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years of ASC experience in single or multi-location clinics, purchasing and/or management preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Materials management software, ie. Lawson, McKesson preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Database program preferred.
  • Direct experience with Lawson Materials Management software preferred.
