About The Position

GCHS is looking for a dynamic Operating Room RN to oversee operating room functions and staff, performing a mix of patient care and clerical duties. Summary: Provides general nursing care to patients in hospital (medical/surgical/ER unit) by performing the following duties: Completes disinfecting, packaging and sterilization of instruments and equipment. Washes endoscopes using the OER Elite Reprocessor. Works in the operating room as scrub nurse, circulation nurse or recovery nurse. Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience. Monitor use of and charge for all supplies used. Document appropriately the care that is given to the patient Prepare for the arrival of patients by making sure that proper supplies and equipment are available. Do assessment of patients, start IV, and administer necessary medications as ordered. Receives patient into the recovery room after surgery. Assesses and evaluates the patient. This position is full-time, weekdays with a flexible schedule to fit candidate’s needs. GCHS is currently paying quarterly retention bonuses to all staff for hours worked during the quarter.
