About The Position

United Health Services, the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier, is hiring a Staff Registered Nurse, Operating Room to join our team at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. The Operating Room Nursing Team is a cohesive, skilled, supportive group. The OR nurses must be agile and adaptable to working with different teams of surgeons. This group gives nurses a lot of exposure to other units within the hospital!

Requirements

A valid NY RN license
ACLS preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
Previous General OR experience required

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in Neuro and/or Cardio OR highly preferred

Responsibilities

Maintaining patient safety and advocating for patients
Surgical counts, specimen handling/labeling/transporting
Monitoring vital signs and responding rapidly when necessary
Administering medications and providing patient education
