About The Position

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing.
• 2-5 years of nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Cert Nurse OR (CNOR) certification.
• Mastery Test Out Periop 101.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and their families about the communication process during procedures and what to expect.
• Serves as a liaison between physician and the patient and family.
• Demonstrates competence in scrubbing and/or circulating for surgical services.
• Uses established safety techniques in preparing for and assisting with surgical procedures.
• Keeps patients safe from adverse events associated with surgery/procedure.
• Observes patients during procedures to detect possible complications.
• Preserves and labels operative specimens for analysis.
• Participates in activities that promote safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Engages in professional development and lifelong learning.
• May participate in orientation and preceptorship of new staff.
