About The Position

Medical City Fort Worth is seeking a Seasonal PRN Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This program runs from September 21, 2025, to April 4, 2026, offering a pay rate of $62 per hour plus differentials. Seasonal employees are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period and may be asked to float to other facilities as needed. The role requires four weekend shifts every four weeks and two holiday shifts during the 32-week period. Seasonal staff are PRN status employees with no guaranteed hours and are not eligible for benefits except for 401(k) contributions. Current employees of Medical City Healthcare and HWS are not eligible for this program.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team
• Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly
• Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures
