About The Position

The Operating Room Registered Nurse at Central Utah Surgical Center is responsible for delivering patient-centered care in an ambulatory surgery setting. This role involves overseeing surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and managing nursing care from pre-operative to post-operative stages. The nurse will work closely with surgical teams to facilitate efficient operations and provide high-quality care to patients.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS certification as required by facility.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the instrument and equipment set-up for the operating room, including utilization of preference cards and anticipating surgeons' needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the operating room during surgical cases as the circulator.
• Facilitate effective and efficient transitions between surgical procedures.
• Utilize appropriate body mechanics in moving patients to stretchers and operating room tables to prevent injury.
• Manage patient care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia.
• Consistently review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after surgical procedures.
