About The Position

An established surgical services team in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a dynamic perioperative department. Day and night shifts are available, with self-scheduling posted four weeks in advance to promote work-life balance and schedule predictability.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or Compact State
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience (scrub and/or circulate)
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • CNOR certification
  • Experience in Level I Trauma or large academic hospital setting

Responsibilities

  • Circulate and/or scrub for surgical procedures across multiple service lines.
  • Assess patients before surgery and provide perioperative education to patients and families.
  • Prepare the OR for procedures, including verifying surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively, respond to changes in condition, and document care accurately.
  • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to surgical protocols and infection prevention standards.
  • Participate in pre-op and post-op briefings and debriefings per hospital policy.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, leadership, and evidence-based practice in all aspects of perioperative care.
