About The Position

The Surgical Charge RN position at South Shore is a full-time role with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 0600 to 1430. This position does not require weekends or on-call duties unless the individual chooses to participate. The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the surgery room, including staffing coordination and room assignments. The South Shore services include minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and traditional surgeries across various specialties such as General, Orthopedic, Podiatry, Urology, Endoscopic Spine, and Spine Pain. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, up to $20,000 in loan support, and up to $7,200 in education assistance, along with continuing education credits and a generous benefits package.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • 5 years of experience in the Operating Room with preferred knowledge of anesthesia and SPD.

Responsibilities

  • Provides work direction to clinical and support staff to coordinate resources for efficient support of procedures and day-to-day operations.
  • Supports direct patient care by performing nursing processes to deliver safe and quality care.
  • Promotes an environment conducive to safe and efficient patient care, including daily patient rounding.
  • Coordinates the needs of the patient care team and promotes communication among patients, families, and medical staff.
  • Acts as a resource to employees, providing training, work direction, and performance input.
  • Monitors employee assignments and maintains staff scheduling to ensure productivity.
  • Monitors the quality of care provided and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provides input to budget and ensures adequate supplies and equipment are available.
  • Works with management to develop new programs and services and coordinates with vendors for equipment.
  • Participates in product trials and submits recommendations to management.
