About The Position

Nashville General Hospital seeks to hire an experienced OR Registered Nurse (RN) Lead for our Operating Room Unit (OR) who will embrace our commitment to providing quality care to every patient and family member. As an Operating Room Lead RN you will be responsible for: Demonstrate ability to perform and the ability to operate technical equipment. Provides leadership, motivation, and clinical expertise in the management and coordination of surgical services to provide quality patient care. Assess patient's condition before surgery and provide care for patients in recovery. Position patient on operating table and assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. Cleaning surgical equipment and operating rooms to maintain a sterile environment. Educating patients on best practices for recovery including pain management and keeping wounds clean.

Requirements

  • Assessing patient condition and noting it accurately according to the facility’s charting practices.
  • Understanding applicable state regulations and following compliance practices.
  • Graduate of an accredited Associates degree required, Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing Preferred.
  • Current Licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
  • BLS required. ACLS preferred.
  • Five (5) years OR experience required and possess strong negotiation skills and flexibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) preferred.
  • Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) preferred.
