The Operating Room Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory control program for the operating room at Nassau University Medical Center. This role involves managing the procurement and availability of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient inventory flow, and supervising inventory record maintenance.   • Direct an operating room inventory control program utilizing a software program for tracking operating room equipment and supplies inventory.
  • Coordinate equipment and supply procurement with the purchasing department and ensure adequate supply availability based on past usage and future operating room schedules.
  • Supervise the maintenance of inventory records and prepare related reports as required.
  • Communicate with vendors to expedite deliveries and resolve problems.
  • Identify problems in inventory flow and develop appropriate remedial policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate the need for new equipment; research and make recommendations for trial purposes.
  • Track trends and innovations in inventory management and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university.
  • Five years of satisfactory experience maintaining operating room or other medical supply inventory utilizing a computerized system.
  • One year supervising subordinates engaged in maintaining operating room or other medical supply inventory.
