About The Position

Performs delegated activities supporting the OR team in the care of surgical patients. Under the supervision of the OR Charge Nurse & Service Coordinators, assists with room set up, room turn over and case cart transport, assesses sub-sterile core supply stock. May assist with case cart management duties if needed.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience, similar experience to patient identification and authentication, or recent work experience in a hospital is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing duties, resolving supply and equipment problems, and when communication with surgical team members.
• Ability to use general medical support equipment, including multiple OR devices; understand and follow instructions, as well as give clear directions to others in need of assistance and guidance; good listening skills.
• Ability to use standard office equipment including computers, fax, copy, document scanners, and tube stations.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is preferred.
