Perform assigned tasks to aid in the provision of patient care and daily operation of the Surgical Suite in accordance with established nursing policies and procedures. Provide patient care under the direction of the professional registered nurse appropriate to the ages of patients served.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

• One (1) year nursing case assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special nursing procedures as delegated by the professional registered nurse.
• Provide comfort, support, and safety measures appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Provide and assist in meeting the patient's care needs appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Organize time to complete assignments according to specifically assigned responsibilities.
• Position, mobilize, and transport patients according to designated plan of care and direction from the professional registered nurse or designee appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Follow department guidelines in the cleaning and disinfection of furniture/equipment.
• Maintain general cleanliness of unit and restock appropriately.
• Report to Department Director/designee and equipment malfunctions that could affect the standard of care or legal implications.
• Maintain department's sterilization records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
