About The Position

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Operating Room Assistant, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will provide patient care tasks, in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. This role functions within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization. Requirements

High school graduate or equivalency required.
Effective Communication Skills
Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
Math computation skills.
BLS healthcare provider training required.

Nice To Haves

Previous healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

Assists with placing patient in the designated surgical position (e.g. supine, prone, lateral, lithotomy).
Monitor positioning and traction devices as appropriate.
Verifies integrity of sterile packaging and sterilization indicators.
Open sterile supplies and instruments using aseptic technique.
Assists with room turnover.
Adheres to aseptic technique principles.
Maintains OR supply inventory and linen.
All other duties as assigned.
