About The Position

IU Health Fishers is proud to be the city’s only Level One Heart Attack Program, offering 24/7 cardiac care and state of the art catheterization labs just steps from our emergency department. We’re also home to the IU Health Hip and Knee Center, performing more joint replacements than any other IU Health facility in Indiana. Our 88-bed hospital provides comprehensive services including cardiology, orthopedics, obstetrics, pediatrics, general surgery, and more. With six operating rooms, a special care nursery, and a dedicated Riley Children’s Health emergency unit, we deliver exceptional care for every patient. As part of the nationally recognized IU Health system and affiliated with the Indiana University School of Medicine, our team is committed to excellence, innovation, and community wellness. We’re proud to be a Dementia Friends Indiana facility and have earned Joint Commission certification for hip and knee replacements. This position is a day shift role working 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. On-call and Holiday required. Supports the surgical team before, during and after surgery. Assists with operating room preparation by cleaning, procuring equipment and opening sterile supplies. Provides transportation and needed assistance with patient care. Assists Surgical Techs and Nurses with various assigned duties. Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, surgical technologists and other surgical personnel.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
  • Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
  • Requires physical stamina and proper lifting techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
