About The Position

At Meritus Health, every surgical procedure is a team effort-and Operating Room Assistants play a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, compassionate care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you'll support the physical and psychosocial needs of surgical patients, assist with intraoperative preparation, and help maintain a smooth, respectful environment for both patients and staff. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a Nursing Assistant program preferred
Related experience in patient care preferred
Current BLS (CPR) certification required, in compliance with Meritus Health policy
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to patient-centered care and team-based support

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Nursing Assistant program preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with the physical and emotional needs of surgical patients before, during, and after procedures
Support the surgical team by preparing equipment, supplies, and patient areas
Maintain effective communication with team members to ensure continuity of care
Foster positive relationships with other departments and nursing units
Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and empathy in all patient interactions
