Nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 in this OR setting that includes scrubbing and circulating in the OR for surgery cases including orthopedics, total joint replacement, pelvic/ urologic, and bariatric surgeries. Flexible scheduling that is provided two weeks in advance, with assignment s given the day of and management that is sensitive to the work-life balance and attempts to accommodate schedules around school schedules and life activities. The OR leaders and educators have an extensive amount of experience in the specialty and are willing to share this knowledge and potentially train candidates that are looking to learn this fast paced and exciting aspect of healthcare. This role functions as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include transporting patients throughout surgical services, assisting with room turnover and general cleaning, relaying messages, running errands, and supporting basic patient care.
