About The Position

IU Health Methodist proudly anchors downtown Indianapolis as a Level 1 Trauma facility, featuring 29 state-of-the-art Operating suites. Our expertise spans diverse specialties, including Trauma, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, Vascular, Neurology, and General Surgery. From tackling complex cases to addressing the challenges of Trauma injuries, we provide critical care for high acuity patients across various clinical specialties. This position is an evening shift role working 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Monday-Friday. On-call and rotating holidays required.

Requirements

• Requires a High School Diploma/GED.
• Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
• Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
• Requires physical stamina and proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Support the surgical team before, during and after surgery.
• Assist with operating room preparation by cleaning, procuring equipment and opening sterile supplies.
• Provide transportation and needed assistance with patient care.
• Assist Surgical Techs and Nurses with various assigned duties.
• Work as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, surgical technologists and other surgical personnel.
