About The Position

The Operating Room Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the surgical team by ensuring the operating room is prepared and maintained for surgical procedures. This position involves assisting with patient movement, room cleanup, and equipment management, contributing to a high-quality healthcare environment at Texas Health Resources.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Previous healthcare and patient care experience preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to stand/walk for the majority of the work shift and move heavy equipment & supplies (up to 250 lbs on wheels) safely.

Nice To Haves

• Previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes routine stocking chores in the operating room.
• Assists in moving patients to and from the operating room suites.
• Assists in room cleanup before and/or after surgery.
• Follows directions of the circulating nurse in obtaining equipment, instruments, and supplies as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
