About The Position

Operating Room Aide provides support to the Medical and Nursing staff in the Operating Room Complex and maintains technical competencies as required. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Operating Room, UHS Binghamton General Hospital Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $17.05 - $22.17 per hour, depending on experience ----- Essential Functions: Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that are performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Transports and transfers patient from units and to and from OR table. Performs cleaning duties within the OR suites. Maintains specific OR supply inventories. Holds for preps as necessary. Assists OR team position patients for surgery. Maintains safe corridors - free from clutter. Monitors hallways and removes extraneous equipment, as needed. Supports sterilization and cleaning of instruments. Delivers specimens, equipment, blood, X-rays, and patient records to and from the OR. Stocks supplies and linen as needed. Cleans related areas and equipment as needed Non-Essential Functions: Duties the employee may perform that are not essential as defined in the job description. Will perform additional responsibilities, as requested

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certification within 3 months of hire

  • Previous work experience in an Operating Room setting
