Operating Engineer
About The Position
JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer to join their team in Spring, TX. This role involves operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all building systems. The Operating Engineer will be critical in ensuring the client's facility operates at peak performance while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. The position requires technical expertise in at least one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations) and multi-skilled capabilities across other disciplines. The individual will work independently and collaboratively to manage preventative maintenance programs, respond to service requests, and ensure all facility systems meet applicable standards and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical expertise in at least one craft area: Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations
- Multi-skilled capabilities across other facility maintenance disciplines
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage daily/weekly work assignments
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols
Nice To Haves
- Experience with HVAC systems
- Electrical maintenance and repair knowledge
- Plumbing system expertise
- Fire Life Safety (FLS) system experience
- Commercial kitchen equipment maintenance experience
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to keep facility and building systems compliant with applicable standards
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency
- Clean, inspect, calibrate, and change parts to maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels
- Review monthly client service request summaries to identify and correct recurrent operational problems
- Evaluate vendors and suppliers regularly with regard to quality and competitive pricing
- Verify the accuracy of deliveries for count, pricing, and description
- Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned
