What this job involves: The Operating/Building Engineer will perform both preventative maintenance & corrective maintenance to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment/systems in assigned facilities. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc. Day-to-day tasks will include: Assisting with basic building repairs and maintenance tasks Conduct building rounds and inspections Assist in receiving and distributing incoming deliveries Performing simple plumbing tasks, such as unclogging drains Assisting with basic electrical work under supervision Moving furniture and equipment as needed – event support Maintaining a clean and organized work environment Learning to use various tools and equipment safely Assisting experienced technician with more complex tasks Responding to and completing work orders in a timely manner Assisting with receiving incoming shipments when necessary Cover responsibilities for staff that are away on PTO, medical leave, etc. Communicate building issues that require further investigation to management Assist Facilities team with coverage as needed in all areas of site responsibility Work in Corrigo to support work order management Function as site liaison to JLL support groups – finance, Corrigo, project support, etc. Respond to after-hour requests; leaks, equipment/plumbing failures, etc. Work closely with SBM personnel to ensure the site is kept to our cleanliness standards Work with FM to prepare reports and updates for regular scheduled meetings Escort vendors as necessary to complete work in the building

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools.
  • Proficient in basic computer application software such as MS Office, Outlook, CMMS (Maximo), etc.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training in the areas of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
  • This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • EPA Universal License
  • BAS experience
  • Preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment
