About The Position

This position has a high percentage of wrench time and focuses on general maintenance, repair and inspections of equipment associated with the facility. The individual in this role must be available for call-in work and to perform other duties as required. The candidate must possess the ability to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal use of third-party vendors.

Requirements

  • Experience with BMS and CMMS
  • High school diploma or state equivalent required
  • Two years of related trade schooling or equivalent
  • Able to rotate on-call schedule
  • Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
  • Completion of written documentation is required
  • Able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment
  • Able to work on roofs of buildings
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge of working within a GMP environment
  • 5 years of related building maintenance experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and continuous operation for a critical distribution building and systems.
  • All mechanical systems to include but not limited to, dock doors & related equipment, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire/life safety.
  • Additional duties include “general” repairs, minor cosmetic repairs, painting, door hardware.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors as necessary
  • Review and analyze system data (reliability, calls, etc.) and develop initial recommendations with Chief Engineer on any maintenance changes, upgrades, replacements, etc.
  • Provide professional feedback to update preventative maintenance procedures
  • Maintain up to date & complete system documentation in a central resource location, for all repairs or changes to the system
  • Monitor the operation and make adjustments on chiller, refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, and hot water systems; monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and hot water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; record readings and make adjustments where necessary to assure proper operation of equipment.
  • Maintain tools and orders supplies as required for installation and repairs
  • Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building’s staff and occupants work in a safe environment.
  • Implement, administer, and manage safety training programs
  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials and refrigerants
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Performs additional job duties as requested
