About The Position

We’re looking for a Developer Relations Frontend Engineer who is passionate about open-source software and enthusiastic about creating engaging developer experiences. In this hybrid DevRel + Frontend role, you will maintain GitHub repos and websites for open-source projects, support and grow a global developer community, and help tell compelling technical stories through content and social media. You’ll work closely with maintainers, contributors, and community members to empower developers, increase project visibility, and foster an inclusive, vibrant open-source ecosystem. About GR-OSS The G-Research Open Source Software team plays an active role in the open-source community, with a focus on data science and machine-learning tools, as well as the infrastructure and security to support them. We take responsibility for maintaining multiple open source projects, contributing to the continual development of essential software, and supporting open source foundations. Requirements

  • Strong frontend engineering skills: modern HTML/CSS/JS and at least one major frontend framework (React, Vue, Svelte, etc.).
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects via GitHub and other platforms.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Comfortable engaging with developers across forums, GitHub, Slack, Discord/Discourse, and social media.
  • Experience creating technical content (articles, tutorials, demos, or videos).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to run community events independently.
  • Enthusiasm about using AI tools and tracking new developments to enhance work quality.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences (expenses covered).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with static site generators (Next.js, Astro, Docusaurus, Hugo, etc.).
  • Experience with documentation tooling and DevRel workflows.
  • Public speaking or livestreaming experience.
  • Graphic or UI/UX design skills for developer-facing content.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain websites and documentation portals for open-source projects (e.g., landing pages, component libraries, diagrams, interactive demos).
  • Manage and maintain GitHub repositories, including issue triage, PR review, release workflow support, and repo organization, documentation cleanup.
  • Create and publish content, such as blog posts, tutorials, short videos, and social media updates.
  • Collaborate with software developers to draft, edit, and publish high-quality technical articles and guides.
  • Host and coordinate monthly project community meetings, including preparing agendas, running live sessions, and following up with summaries and action items.
  • Represent the project at open-source conferences, both virtually and in person - delivering talks, giving demos, and engaging with the community.
  • Advocate for developer needs internally and help shape product direction with feedback collected from community interactions.
