AVER is seeking an Open-Source Intel Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security by being part of a special project team to investigate schools to determine those likely to be exploiting the student and exchange visa programs for criminal purposes. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with conducting in depth research, analysis, writing and reporting
  • Experience with writing detailed multi paragraph narrative, informational, or investigative reports
  • Experience with writing detailed and in-depth notices, reports, and memorandums following government templates and writing guides
  • Experience with drawing conclusions, formulating detailed “finding reports” including executive level summaries, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Experience with researching federal regulations, conducting in depth analysis, developing and interpreting information to assist stakeholders in decision making, policy formulation, and a variety of other managerial functions
  • Experience with leveraging a variety of databases to research, compile, generate and analyze findings
  • Ability to understand and interpret policy, regulations, and directives
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
  • This role supports a government agency which requires U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field is required

  • Knowledge or experience with SEVIS or a related database, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support federal customers with data analysis, trend analysis, red flag analysis, statistical analysis, performance (monthly, quarterly, annually) analysis, ad hoc and recurring studies, and/or stakeholder data requests
  • Provide federal customers information required for school and student investigations
  • Investigate and analyze schools to verify legitimacy or assess potential risk of fraudulent activities
  • Organize and prioritize tasks, track profiles, and determined the viability of leads for investigation across the US
  • Refer or make recommendation for further investigation
  • Utilize various Federal systems of records and locally developed databases to document, track, and monitor the statuses of tasks and cases
