Open Source Industrial IoT Engineer Job Description How you'll contribute: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineer to join our Edge team at SUSE. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of infrastructure, networking technologies, and Kubernetes-based platforms, and be able to work independently and as part of a team to develop SUSE's edge infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

Experience in edge infrastructure and workloads
Strong understanding of networking technologies, including NFV and network acceleration techniques
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Golang, Cluster API and related projects
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Broad experience with Linux operating system development and performance tuning
History of successful contributions to large-scale software projects
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
Relevant industry experience
Experience with open-source software development and community engagement
This position is subject to a background check(s), including criminal, credit, and/or employment references. The candidate is required to complete the background check(s) once an offer has been accepted. This will be conducted by SUSE’s external provider, where legally permitted.

Responsibilities

Design and implement software solutions for use-cases within SUSE's Edge infrastructure platform
Develop and debug complex systems spanning multiple projects and upstream communities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology roadmaps with business requirements
Participate in evaluating new technologies and innovations for integration into the architecture
Contribute to open-source communities relevant to Edge and telco infrastructure
Troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems and networking components
