About The Position

The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has one (1) full-time academic position available at the rank of Open Rank without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding, with clinical duties at Seattle Children's Hospital. The Department of Laboratories at Seattle Children's Hospital is recruiting an outstanding hematopathologist physician who demonstrates excellence in clinical care, translational research, and education. The successful candidate should possess strong interpersonal and managerial skills. Hematopathology responsibilities include morphologic interpretation of bone marrows, peripheral blood, lymph nodes and other tissues; flow cytometry analysis of leukemias and lymphomas (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing), PNH, and immunology tests; and continuing education for physicians and staff. If interested, the successful applicant could also serve as Associate Director of Hematology for the Core Laboratory. Excellent opportunities exist for collaborative research and the individual may choose to develop or continue an academic program. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). This is a full-time 12-month (July 1-June 30) service position and will remain open until filled with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2026. This position is paid directly by Seattle Children's Hospital and receives no UW compensation. Please refer to Seattle Children's Hospital for information about compensation for this position. Requirements

• MD or DO (or foreign equivalent)
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology
• Qualify for a license to practice medicine in Washington State
• For foreign medical school graduates, successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Morphologic interpretation of bone marrows, peripheral blood, lymph nodes and other tissues
