About The Position

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is seeking an Open Rank Specialized or Tenure Track Professor in Small Animal Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care. This is a 100% appointment on a 12-month basis. The successful candidate will provide clinical services in veterinary small animal emergency and critical care (SAECC), contribute to the clinical instruction of residents, interns, and veterinary students, and communicate effectively with clients and referring veterinarians. Teaching responsibilities will include didactic, small group, and laboratory instruction of veterinary and graduate students. The candidate will also participate in clinically relevant or basic research projects. The SAECC service is looking for an additional faculty member to join a team of four small animal criticalists and is equipped with advanced technology and facilities to support high-quality patient care and education.

Requirements

• DVM degree (or equivalent).
• ACVECC/ECVECC board-certification or completed residency training with credentials accepted by ACVECC/ECVECC by the start date.
• Preference for candidates with ACVECC/ECVECC certification, advanced degree(s), previous leadership positions, and a track record in scholarship.
