The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia invites applications for an open-rank, non-tenure-accruing faculty position in public policy, on the teaching track, with a focus on social entrepreneurship. Rank will be determined by candidate qualifications. The appointment is expected to begin in Fall 2026. We seek candidates from a range of disciplines, including business administration, business ethics, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, law, management, organizational behavior, political science, or public administration. The preferred candidate's teaching, research, and/or professional experience focuses on social entrepreneurship broadly defined, including but not limited to work on: social enterprise, an organization that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in financial, social, and environmental well-being. impact investing and innovative finance, design thinking and organizational design, public policy related to social innovation, Tech and AI for Good Social enterprises may be organized as non-profits, for profits, or hybrid organizations, but seek to maximize financial sustainability alongside social and environmental impact. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop and effectively teach courses in social entrepreneurship (broadly defined) at both the undergraduate (BA) and graduate (MPP) levels, and a commitment to advancing Batten's mission through service and public outreach and engagement. Professional experience in the social enterprise community is strongly preferred. Candidates with a distinguished record of professional practice who are interested in engaging with the scholarly community at Batten and UVA, such as SE@UVA and UVA Innovates, are encouraged to apply.
