About The Position

The Hamline School of Education and Leadership (HSEL) in Saint Paul, Minnesota, invites applications for a faculty position with program director responsibilities for the EdD Program. This open-rank position (Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Practice) offers tenure-track eligibility and is designed for an experienced educator-scholar with demonstrated leadership in EdD programs, graduate teaching, and dissertation advising. We seek a colleague with a strong commitment to advancing equity, social justice, and inclusive education through the preparation of future educational leaders. The successful candidate will bring expertise in educational leadership (K–12 or higher education), a deep commitment to serving adult learners and doctoral students, and a record of or strong potential for scholarly productivity. A terminal degree (EdD or PhD) in education or a closely related field is required. The EdD Director will work closely with a collaborative faculty team committed to innovative, justice-oriented graduate education.

Responsibilities

• Recruit new students and conduct applicant interviews
• Serve as primary EdD student advisor
• Teach at least two EdD courses per year (evenings/weekends) and other courses in HSEL
• Oversee and collaborate with HSEL colleagues to grow and innovate the EdD program and curriculum
• Oversee and manage program logistics
• Represent Hamline in the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED)
