The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Pediatrics seeks BE/BC candidates to join the faculty of our stable and thriving Division of Pediatric Cardiology. As a joint cooperative of Children’s of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, we are leaders in comprehensive pediatric and adult congenital cardiac care for the people of Alabama and Southeast United States. The selected candidates will work with our multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, cardiac intensivists, anesthesiologists, and cardiac surgeons to provide a continuum of care for patients with congenital heart disease. Successful applicants should have an MD, DO, MBBS degree or equivalent and should have completed fellowship and be board certified or eligible in pediatric cardiology as well as have advanced training in multimodality imaging including echocardiography, cardiac MRI and cardiac CT. Candidates will be expected to be facile in the performing and interpreting noninvasive cardiac imaging, participate in general outpatient specialty clinical activities, provide inpatient services, and participate in clinical research activity that aligns with the goals of the division. A history of excellent communication and evidence of exceptional clinical and teaching skills are necessary. Flexibility and strong communication skills are essential in joining a team who values collaboration between all members of the Heart Center and whose highest priorities are the patient, their families and each other. Preference will be given to individuals with a strong interest/experience in scholarly activities and clinical/translational research.
