Patient Access Navigators at the CU Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center are on the front lines of the battle to improve healthcare equity by investing time and energies to help patients with congenital bleeding and clotting disorders navigate the complexities of the healthcare system. Navigators will explain clinic processes, insurance coverage, and patient responsibilities in a culturally sensitive manner to improve patient outcomes. Access Navigators will be responsible for making the first impression for both the Center and School of Medicine. New patients will base their impression of care on the successful handling of their onboarding. The Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (HTC) is an internationally renowned specialized disease management center for children and adults within the University of Colorado, School of Medicine. The HTC provides direct comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to over 3000 adult and pediatric patients with rare chronic bleeding and clotting disorders throughout a multiple state region. The Center encompasses a freestanding School of Medicine clinic, a specialty pharmacy, research laboratories, clinical research services, professional training, patient education, and patient outreach and support programs.
