About The Position

The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is eager to put together the right package for an individual with a passion for adult general psychiatry and teaching, coupled with an interest in joining a team of talented, caring and committed faculty members. Applications are being accepted for an academic faculty psychiatrist suitable for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor for a position as an attending psychiatrist in our Adult General Psychiatry Division’s Outpatient Service, in addition to support the Rio Rancho Behavioral Health Clinic. The successful candidate can take full advantage of opportunities available in our vibrant and active academic community. As an attending psychiatrist at the UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, the person selected will have a voice in developing the department’s direction as well as opportunities for multicultural clinical care and scholarly and collaborative research activities across the Health Sciences campus. There are many opportunities for professional development in leadership, administration, and education, including mentoring and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees in related disciplines.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree (MD or equivalent)
  • Board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry
  • Clinical experience – minimum 1 year
  • Licensable in New Mexico
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
