About The Position

The University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine, in partnership with Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Transplant Institute, is seeking a full-time academic pulmonologist specializing in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), Lung Transplant. This faculty position is offered at an open rank Professor level and is part of the Center for Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplant Program, the only such center on Florida’s West Coast, serving nearly 5 million people. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team that includes cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and transplant specialists. Responsibilities include comprehensive care for patients with advanced lung disease across the entire transplant continuum in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Clinical duties will include pulmonary transplant evaluations, and ILD specialty care, as well as inpatient consults and outpatient clinics at TGH and affiliated sites. As part of the academic faculty, the candidate will participate in multidisciplinary ICU rounds and be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Engagement in scholarly activities such as clinical research, quality improvement, and academic presentations is strongly encouraged. The position is a 12-month, salaried appointment and includes attending privileges at Tampa General Hospital and its affiliates. Candidates must hold a medical degree or equivalent, and be board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. The role includes academic advising and may involve service to the university through committee work or representation at professional forums. The Lung Transplant Program is part of one of the largest and most comprehensive transplant institutes in the nation, offering a unique opportunity to grow within a nationally recognized center.
