About The Position

This is a full time Instructor to Sr. Instructor position in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Children’s Hospital Colorado. We are seeking a dynamic, patient-centered, board certified/eligible advanced practice provider to be a part of our expanding and dynamic sleep medicine program. We highly value our clinical provider partners and collaborate with our faculty members to have fulfilling careers. The section of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine has 61 faculty members (to include Sr., Jr., PhD, Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant faculty) and is a multifaceted program, with on-going interests in asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, sleep medicine, the pediatric airway and medical education. Our section has a significant research portfolio (clinical, translational, basic science) as well as a robust clinical portfolio with many quality and safety initiatives and expansion projects. Our fellowship program is highly pursued based on our current and historical reputation. The section of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine is currently ranked #4 in the country by US News and World Report, including a top ranking for reputation. Many of our faculty are locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally known for their expertise.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing or equivalent education as a physician’s assistant.
  • Licensed, or license-eligible to practice professional advanced nursing in Colorado, for PAs, Physician Assistant Certificate.
  • Registration, or ability to register with a State Board Agency of Nursing as an Advanced/Family Practice Nurse or Physician’s Assistant
  • 1-3 years pediatric experience (Instructor)
  • 5 years pediatric experience (Sr. Instructor)
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
  • Knowledge appropriate for individuals completing APN or PA School
  • Pediatric clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three years pediatric experience
  • One to three years, sleep, pediatric pulmonary or neurology experience
  • Prescriptive Authority
  • Experience with non-invasive ventilation interfaces and modalities a plus
  • Experience with XLTEK sleep software
  • Inpatient experience a plus
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record, email, and other medical technologies
