About The Position

The Division of Hematology and Oncology and the Comprehensive Cancer Center in the School of Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham ( UAB ) seeks applicants committed to an academic career in hematology and oncology with focus on gastrointestinal oncology, with responsibilities in teaching, clinical services and clinical and/or laboratory based research. Appointments will be at the assistant, associate or full professor level, tenure earning, tenured or non-tenure earning, commensurate with experience. The Division is poised for rapid growth, with heavy investment from the Department, School, and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, and is committed to the growth of the hematology and oncology programs. Faculty have access to several outstanding interdisciplinary programs including the UAB CTSI , the Alabama Drug Discovery Alliance, and flagship programs in Genomics/personalized medicine, advanced medical imaging, outcomes and effectiveness research and survivorship, amongst several others. Requirements

  • Applicants must have an MD or pertinent PhD degree.
  • Physician candidates must be board certified or board eligible in hematology and/or oncology.
