Florida Polytechnic University invites applications for multiple faculty positions in Civil Engineering at the open rank level, with preference given to candidates at the assistant or associate professor rank. These positions support Florida Poly's rapidly growing Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program, which will graduate its first class in May 2027. Florida Poly is the only public university in Florida focused exclusively on STEM education. We are a young and expanding institution with a bold strategic goal of reaching 3,000 students by 2030, fueled by high-demand programs in engineering and technology fields. The Civil Engineering program resides within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and is designed around a hands-on, project-focused curriculum that emphasizes real-world impact, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional readiness. Students develop expertise across core areas of civil engineering, with particular emphasis on structures, materials, transportation, water resources, and geotechnical systems. We are especially interested in candidates with teaching and research experience in reinforced concrete, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering, though outstanding applicants in other civil subfields will be considered. As a member of the founding faculty in this new program, you will have the opportunity to shape both the curriculum and the culture of the department. Your work will play a foundational role in building a distinctive and sustainable academic program that addresses statewide and national infrastructure needs. Faculty in these positions will contribute to teaching undergraduate courses, advising and mentoring students, supervising senior design projects, engaging in externally relevant research, and supporting the continued development of a high-quality academic program. Florida Poly's small class sizes applied learning environment, and strong commitment to undergraduate education make it an ideal setting for student-focused faculty. These are tenure-track equivalent positions that offer long-term contracts and post-tenure review, governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the United Faculty of Florida. The expected start date is August 2026, though earlier appointments may be considered. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
